    Event description

This tour is in support of Peter’s not-for-profit organisation The Life You Can Save. All net proceeds will go towards their efforts to alleviate global poverty

Our world is beautiful and prosperous for some, and a living hell for others, but Peter Singer has taught us that it doesn’t have to be that way. Today we have about a billion things to worry about, and we need the invaluable work of a learned philosopher more than ever. Come and make sense of it all and learn how to make a difference in your life.

Since 1975 to this moment, Peter Singer has helped thousands of individuals shape their moral foundation from which to live and base the long list of decisions we make every day. “Few academic philosophers have ever had the impact of Peter Singer”, Kwame Anthony Appiah recently said when awarding Peter the 2021 Berggruen Prize for Philosophy and Culture.

Since the beginning, Peter’s work has been guided by one principle: “If it is in our power to prevent something bad from happening, without thereby sacrificing anything of comparable moral importance, we ought, morally, to do it.”

Over five decades Peter has never shied away from difficult and controversial conversations, and inspired countless people around the world to do the same. In 1975 his book Animal Liberation paved the way for the animal rights movement, and in 2009 his guide to ending world poverty, The Life You Can Save, sparked the global Effective Altruism movement. In 2021 he co-founded The Journal of Controversial Ideas, an answer to echo-chambers and cancel culture stifling rational discourse.

Buy your tickets today to see logos in action, quite the spectacle in 2022! A mind like Peter’s is a rare gem, and this is a unique chance to explore issues such as animal welfare, effective altruism, free speech, and mandatory vaccinations with the world’s most famous utilitarian philosopher alive today.

    How The Virtual Event Works

As a Virtual Event attendee, you’ll get access to a high-production livestream of our event with Peter Singer on Sunday April 3 (AEST).

This isn’t just another webinar. This is the experience of being in a packed-out hall, surrounded by like-minded people, sharing the experience of hearing Peter Singer’s enlightening ideas - an event held in the comfort of your home, complete with:

    • A front-row seat,
    • An audience-wide Event Chat for rational discussion and debate, and
    • The opportunity to connect with other attendees at our virtual After Party.

We will be working with the venue and a production crew to use stage cameras, lighting and sound to provide you with the best quality livestream possible.

If you would like to watch Peter live on stage in person, please check out the other event pages listed below:

    What is the After Party?

It’s an exclusive online hangout where all tour attendees (both in-person and virtual) can come together and debate the ideas presented by Peter.

A networking event and discussion forum combined, you will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded people, make new friends and dive deeper into Peter’s arguments at the After Party.
