Event description

Come along to our Weekday Petting Farm Stay & Play!

Held in partnership with Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre we will be welcoming Myuna Farm's Animal Nursery to the Canterbury Community Precinct in November. Meet farm animals and enjoy farm themed activities like colouring and small world play. Our stay & play events offer the opportunity for you and your child to have fun playing while meeting other parents and carers.

Tickets are free but essential

This event has been made possible due to money raised during our photo fundraiser event this year.

Please note this is not a drop off event, all children must be fully supervised by a parent/carer in the same room at all times.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time do I need to arrive by?
Please note the event runs for 1 hour only. We recommend arriving at 10am or by 10.30am at the latest so you will have time to explore all of the activities.

Where will the event be held?
The event will be held in the Workshop on the right hand side of the upper car park opposite the community garden.

How many tickets do I need to book?
Please book 1 ticket per person attending.

What age range is this event for?
This event is most suitable for ages 2 to 5 but all are welcome being mindful that both children and adults will need to be very gentle and careful with the small animals.

What animals will be there?

Approx 25 small farm animals will be attending the event, children will be able to feed and interact with the animals. While the exact animals can't be confirmed they may include chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, a turtle, guinea pigs, a goose, lambs

How much time will we get to spend with the animals?
If the event is fully booked we anticipate each family will get to spend 20-30 minutes with the animals and 30 minutes to explore the other activities. We will likely split attendees into 2 groups with 1 group in with the animals and rotate halfway through depending on the kids reactions on the day. Based on past events sometimes kids keen to get up close to the animals may change their mind on the day and prefer to watch.
