Join us for the PGC Weekly Podcast on 17th September in which we are hosting 2 health experts from UNSW who will be guiding students on how they can better manage their sexual health during their University life. We are also inviting an international student who will be sharing her experience while making a transition abroad. This event will be hosted by Saurabh Kaura, who is the current Coursework Officer in the Postgraduate Council of 2021.

About the Speakers

Sylvester Okeke: Sylvester is a PhD scholar at the Centre for Social Research in Health, UNSW, Sydney. He is also Research and Strategy Project Officer (volunteer) at Australian Red Cross. He has field and research experience in adolescents and young adults sexual behaviour and its psychological and sociocultural determinants. His research and community services are foregrounded on sexual health promotion and risk reduction among young people and evidence-based interventions and policies.

Dr Jessica Elmasry is a general practice registrar working at UNSW health service. She studied medicine at UNSW and has since completed a Masters in Global Health at USYD, a research thesis with the European Institute of Policy Research and Human Rights and is currently undertaking a certificate in Female Sexual and Reproductive Health. Jessica is also a current voting member with the AMA (Australian Medical Association) and sits on the federal public health committee advocating for health promotion in government policy. She is passionate about sexual and mental health and enjoys working with young people to empower them to make informed choices about their health.

Finally we have Saltanat Paritova, who is a Women’s Officer at UNSW Postgraduate Council. She is also studying for a Masters of Commerce from UNSW Business School.
