Phillip Piperides | Sculpting Techniques With The Master at SWELL Art Prize

This masterclass invites art lovers and sculpture enthusiasts of all levels to immerse in a full day of creative exploration.

Students will transform a block of clay into a beautiful torso,  reflecting the life model with Phillip’s master craftsman guidance.

Everyone will take home with them a sculpted work that can be fired or cast in bronze at a later date if desired.

Outline of program:

10.00AM Introduction to modelling from life a clay torso

10.30AM Learn to build the aluminium frame

11.00AM Demonstration of how to set up torso in clay

11.30AM Getting started with Phillip guiding

12.30PM Lunch Break

1.00PM Continue to sculpt with Phillip guiding 

4:00PM masterclass concludes

With over 35 years of experience, his wisdom is invaluable. Within his own foundry, Phillip meticulously controls every step of the process of bronze sculpture making. His virtuosity at modelling and his innovative patinas, through remarkable variations, convey the voluptuous richness of the human body.
