Holiday Concert: Philadelphia Premieres
Description
Just a decade after the signing of Declaration of Independence, George Frideric Handel’s Messiah received its first performance in the city of Philadelphia. Singing City will perform excerpts from this famous oratorio in the very neighborhood where it received its Philadelphia premiere 240 years ago. Selected movements will be designated for audience participation. In addition, Singing City will perform seasonal selections that celebrate a diversity of cultures and traditions.
Accessibility Information:
St. Augustine Catholic Church is located on N Fourth Street between N Marginal Road and Vine Street in Old City. There is an accessible entrance on the north side of the building just past the main entrance and accessible seating available in the sanctuary.
