Chaired by MIA's Prof Pascale Guitera, and featuring special guest Prof Henry Lim, a global leader in photoprotection, this session combines world-class expertise with clinically relevant insights. Prof Lim will discuss the latest science of UV radiation, practical photoprotection strategies for high-risk populations and emerging research shaping photoprotection guidance.
Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with Prof Lim to discuss key questions and practical considerations in photoprotection.

Speakers

Prof Henry Lim
Henry Lim, MD is a Professor Emeritus and former Chair of the Department of Dermatology at Henry Ford Health in Detroit, USA. Prof Lim has served as President of several leading dermatology organisations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, and is the current President of the International League of Dermatological Societies. Prof Lim is a leading international expert on photodermatology and vitiligo, both in academia and clinical research. He established a robust clinical and laboratory research program at Henry Ford Health and advanced the understanding and treatment of pigmentary conditions, especially in people with skin of colour. Prof Lim has published more than 700 articles and edited 11 textbooks with over 41,000 citations in Google Scholar. He has been cited by expertscape.com as the world’s top-rated expert on sunscreen. Prof Lim has received numerous international awards, most recently being honoured as the American Academy of Dermatology's 2026 Gold Medal recipient.

Prof Pascale Guitera
Prof Pascale Guitera is the Director of the Sydney Melanoma Diagnostic Centre at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and is a Faculty Member at Melanoma Institute Australia. She is a Professorial Research Fellow at The University of Sydney and is a world-leader in skin cancer diagnosis tools such as artificial intelligence and in vivo confocal microscopy.
