A Piano Recital in celebration of the Centenary of Astor Piazzolla Birth
Piazzolla's fusion of tango with a wide range of other recognizable Western musical academic elements, as well as the incorporation of jazz elements, are part of the skilful adaptation of diverse musical techniques into his own compositional language, giving birth to a new individual style and his controversial and revolutionary New Tango.
What Astor Piazzolla has left behind is an extraordinary treasure of music: instrumental tangos; tango songs; his Tango Opera * María de Bs. As.*; chamber and orchestral music. But basically they all share the same essence: it is the Music of Buenos Aires . His music is Buenos Aires.
