This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Join the Tamworth CWA Evening Branch and Alex from Cornersmith Cafe for a masterclass in pickling followed by a Q&A session!

This Masterclass will include three pickling recipes for you to use to help reduce waste in your home! Recipes include:

  • Roasted Veg Pickle (to use up those wrinkly veggies in the bottom of your fridge)
  • Pickle-what's-left-in-the-fridge recipe
  • Cornersmith regular pickling recipe to stock your pantry

Alex will also take us through all the different ways to use and eat your pickles so you can make the most of your new found skill!

Don't forget to prepare any questions you may have for Alex around waste reduction in your kitchen and meal prep!

This Masterclass is a collaboration between Cornersmith Cafe and Tamworth Evening Branch and will be a major fundraising event for our branch. We would love your support, with all proceeds from this event going towards a variety of worthy causes within our community.

Invite your friends, family and community to join us online for this sustainable pickling Masterclass!

About Cornersmith Cafe

With a passion for ethical food choices and building community, Alex and James opened Cornersmith Cafe in 2012 on a street corner in Marrickville, Sydney serving great tasting food and coffee, plenty of pickles and launched a trading program, where locals could bring in their excess home grown produce.

Cornersmith priorities are:

  • building community
  • reducing waste
  • seasonal food
  • food education
  • trading
  • buying local

Since opening their doors, Cornersmith has released a number of cookbooks, including the popular "Use It All" and collaborative with community groups and organisations to run workshops on sustainable cooking and preserving. Visit the Cornersmith Cafe website to find out more.
