PIE Christmas Fundraiser

Donate in a loved one's name to support primary education in Ethiopia and they'll receive a personalized holiday card for Christmas! 

PIE's Board of Directors is matching all donations to PIE between December 1st and January 7th up to a total of $1000! When you donate during this time, your donation will be matched at a rate of 100% until total donations have reached $1000 (e.g. when you donate $20, another $20 will be donated by PIE's Board of Directors). 

You can choose to donate in a friend, family member or anyone else's name and this person will receive a heartfelt, personalized holiday e-card (or physical card*) from PIE either for Christmas on December 25th or for Gena (Ethiopian Christmas) on January 7th (you choose!). The holiday card will specify the amount donated in the chosen recipient's name, the matched donation amount, and contain information on the projects that the donation is going to fund as well as a special poem written by the winner of Berhan School's holiday poem contest!

Your donation will be supporting PIE's ongoing and new activities in support of Arado School, Berga School and Simbile School in Afar, Ethiopia. Among other things, these include purchasing mats for KG and grade 1 classrooms in Simbile school (estimated cost $540), repairing and upgrading a shower room for the girls of Berga school (estimated cost $270), setting up ICT labs in Berga and Simbile schools (estimated cost for 1-year internet subscription + modem: $240 per school), supplementing teaching supplies (estimated cost: $130 per school) and providing after-school tutoring for struggling Grade 8 students who are preparing for their high school entrance exam (estimated cost for one teacher: $50/month). *If you prefer we mail the person in whose name you are donating a physical card, we are also offering this option for recipients in Canada, USA and Germany. However, we need 7 days lead time to be able to ensure that the card will arrive on time. Therefore, if you want the card to arrive by December 25th, please make your donation no later than December 17th. For January 7th delivery, please make your donation no later than December 31st. 

How to make your donation:

1. Click on "Get tickets" above

2. Under "Choose your tickets", select the delivery mode (E-card or physical card) and the preferred date of delivery (December 25 or January 7) and enter 1 ticket

3. Under "Additional donation", enter your donation amount

4. Click on "Enter details"

5. Under "Your Information", enter your own contact information

6. Under "Ticket 1", enter the contact information for the person in whose name you are making your donation. If you are requesting a physical card to be delivered via mail, please make sure to fill out the address.

7. Do NOT select "Email tickets to attendees" so as not to ruin the surprise. The holiday e-card delivery to your designated recipient will be handled separately by our team. You'll still receive a confirmation email of your purchase to your own email address.
