Pieces of Her: Tales of Teenage Love and Longing in the Digital Age
By Ken Mizusawa / In conjunction with Playmarket NZ
In a 21st century world infused with digital communication technologies, three teenagers, Kyle, Ben, and Jamie try to make sense of their online and offline lives and fulfill their desire for identity and purpose in the very best way they can. Beyond their regular adolescent struggles, Kyle must deal with the loss of his best friend, Ben with his all-consuming obsession with an A.I. powered character in an online game, and Jamie with his desperate desire to maintain a picture-perfect cosplay persona on social media. As the three characters attempt to cope with issues of loss and longing, their lives start to symbolically intersect in ways they can’t imagine in their actual fractured and troubled lives.
This is an all-male main cast adaptation of the play of the same name.
