Step back in time and discover hidden history on this unique hike through the Pine Swamp Loop. Explore scenic woodlands, tranquil streams, and remnants of an abandoned iron mine—all in Harriman State Park. This adventure is perfect for those who love hiking with a side of history.

What to Expect:

• A 2.9-mile moderate trail with 328 feet of elevation gain. Trail details HERE
• Exploration of the abandoned Pine Swamp Mine and its surrounding natural beauty.
• Time to connect with fellow adventurers and enjoy the tranquil wilderness.
• A post-hike stop at a cozy eatery to relax and refuel before heading back to the city.

What to Bring:

• Sturdy hiking boots (required).
• Weather-appropriate clothing, including warm layers, gloves, and a hat.
• A daypack with water, snacks, and a packed lunch.
• A flashlight or headlamp for exploring the mine safely.
• A sense of curiosity and adventure!

Event Schedule:

• 10:00 AM – Meet at The Standard Biergarten in NYC
• 10:30 AM – Depart for Harriman State Park
• 12:00 AM – Arrive at the trailhead and begin the hike
• 2:00 PM – Snack break and exploration of the Pine Swamp Mine
• 3:00 PM – Conclude the hike and head to a nearby café or pub
• 5:00 PM – Depart for NYC
