Pitch Your Binge w/ Awkward As Duck

This event is part of a monthly series of online meet ups to celebrate the infodump and the neurodivergent community.

Is there a book, show, movie or game that you love so much you think everyone should give it a go? Here is your chance to pitch it to others! Or come along and be sold on pop culture phenomena to explore.

This is a fun, casual and lighthearted online Zoom session to revel in what lights us up and participate at your own comfort level. You are welcome to lurk with cameras/mics on or off, or join the conversation by text or voice - whatever works for you. 

If you are keen to make a pitch, pre-register for a 7-minute slot when you register or you can sign up on the night.

Everyone connected to the neurodivergent community is welcome to attend (but I ask only ND folks sign up for the slots). 

Come hang out in a casual judgment-free zone. Register your spot, bring your curiosity and open mind and let's hail the infodump together!

What to expect

1. Me doing an awkward intro of some kind 

2. Me introducing pre-registered guest for slot #1 and giving them the floor for 7 minutes to do their pitch

3. A chance for people to comment or ask questions

4. Me reading comments or questions from the chat

5. Move to next pre-registered guest for next slot - repeat steps 2-4 including anyone else who puts their hand up on the night

6. If there is extra time we will do general chit chat by voice and text on related topics

7. Me doing an awkward goodbye

Info about registering for a slot

• You can sign up when you buy a ticket (during the checkout process). I will contact you by email before the event to confirm if you have been allocated a slot.
• 2 slots will be reserved for last-minute sign-ups, so instead of signing up during the ticket checkout, you can also wait to see how you feel on the night. 
• If there is more interest than slots available, well shit that would be so awesome. I'll have to figure it out and let you know.
• If you would prefer to make your pitch by text chat or another communication format, let me know in the registration questions and we can figure it.
• The purpose of this event is to build a fun, low-pressure shared space, so when choosing a topic please keep it light and non-political. Nothing that might be triggering or distressing for others to hear.
• You do not need to prepare beforehand. It is a conversation not a presentation and we don't want perfection (we really truly don't! Normalising all ways of interacting is why we are doing this)
• I will give a reminder when we are close to the 7-minute mark.
