PK Presents: Well-Matched Lovers: The Dance of Kink and Neurodiversity

Kink has the power to facilitate the happiness, healing, and ease of people. Specific to neurodiverse populations, scientific research is just beginning to explore these intersections with some exciting findings! This presentation draws on insights from research, mental health counseling, and the lived experiences of Professional Dominatrix Eve Minax to provide an integrative workshop on using kink to facilitate ease in people with ADHD. This course is the first in a multi-part series exploring different types of neurodiversity. This course will review relevant scientific literature, explore how kink may be uniquely used for wellness for a specific neurodiverse population, review interventions Professional Dominant Eve Minax uses in supporting neurodivergent kinky individuals, and discuss implications for individuals with ADHD and their friends and family members. Both clinicians and community members will benefit from this rich workshop!

Steve Ratcliff Bio

Steve (he, him) is a licensed mental health counselor and AASECT certified sex therapist in private practice in Portland, Oregon who specializes in treating LGBTQ+, Kinky, and Consensually Nonmonogamous (CNM) clients. Steve’s telehealth private practice serves clients in Florida, Oregon, New Mexico, and Washington states. Steve completed his Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies in 2006 and his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology in 2009. Steve’s doctoral studies are focusing on gender, sexual, and relationship diversity (GSRD) and his dissertation study is currently examining trends in the sitgmatization of kink in a ten-year sample of mass news media articles. In addition, Steve serves as a research scientist and board member with The Alternative Sexual Health Research Alliance (TASHRA) and the board member and volunteer with the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF).
