Place-based Inquiry at Kaarta Koomba

What a meaningful way to kick off Term 2 for you and your colleagues with an immersive day of professional learning at Kaarta Koomba, Kings Park Education Centre.

Led by the Kings Park Education team, the first part of this interactive workshop will provide teachers with opportunities to broaden their knowledge and be inspired with practical ideas for excursions and classroom learning, that explore curriculum areas of E-STEM, Cultural Awareness, Nature and Wellbeing.

Maree Whiteley, Curriculum and Pedagogy Consultant will then guide you through a planning session to explore relevant WA Curriculum links and resources to add inquiry-based learning ideas to your year-level planning, based on Kath Murdoch's Inquiry Cycle, key concepts, and the 'big ideas' from our morning session of immersive experiences.

This workshop includes the option of a follow-up, school-based planning session for your teaching team with Maree Whiteley, at a mutually agreed date to be confirmed.

Morning tea and lunch are provided.

Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. Bring a water bottle and hat.
