Event description

Calling to arms all kick-ass Tauranga Creatives, Marketers, Communicators, Market Researchers and Jack and Jills of All Trades

Join us on Thursday, 8th May at 5.30pm for our big exclusive qualitative marketing session at the University of Waikato Tauranga Campus. This is YOUR chance to be part of creating the Tauranga regions first-ever place brand—a vital initiative that will define how our home is perceived and celebrated locally, nationally, and globally.

As the resident experts in marketing, branding, communications and market research, your insights and expertise are crucial to shaping this one-of-a-kind project. The members of MOPED have long been at the forefront of marketing innovation and leadership in the Bay and we need you!

This session offers you the opportunity to:

    • Collaborate with our fellow marketing professionals and community leaders.
    • Share your vision for what makes Tauranga awesome, unique, and aspirational.
    • Play a key role in developing a brand that reflects the vibrancy, diversity, and potential of our region.

This is more than just a branding exercise—it’s about creating a shared identity that unites our community and drives economic, social, and cultural growth.

What to Expect

    • A short presentation introducing Our Tauranga Region, an initiative supported by key local organisations.
    • Facilitated group discussions to gather qualitative insights on the development of a Tauranga Regional Place Brand.
    • Your chance to actively contribute to the future identity of our Tauranga region.
    • Meet the team behind Our Tauranga Region
    • The latest perception research about our region.
    • Lame dad jokes and relentless enthusiasm for our Tauranga region and our people!

We will aim to send out a research packet and a short video prior to the MOPED catch-up, so we can hit the ground running from the start of our session. As a community, as a collective, as an industry who lives and breathes brand, this is our chance to rev up our region and use our expertise to shape and develop how people perceive and feel about the Tauranga region—locally, domestically, and internationally. We would love to see as many members as possible attend!
