    Event description

Did you know 44% of Australians have low English literacy?
This includes people with disability, people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds and older Australians.

We're excited to present you with the Plain Language workshop as part of our Inclusion Ready initiative.

The Landcare Association of South Australia (LASA) have partnered with the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board to bring you Inclusion Ready information sessions, that are focused on 3 priority groups: First Nations people, newly arrived migrants and people with disabilities.

By implementing these strategies, you can learn about inclusivity in your every day life or to assist in increasing volunteer numbers and improve retention within your volunteer grou
    ps.

Scope Australia presents this Plain Language session that focuses on increasing knowledge and skills regarding plain language use in everyday work scenarios, from emails through to reports, marketing materials, and customer/client correspondence.

By the end of the training you will be able to answer the following questions:

    • What is the difference between plain language and Easy English?
    • Who benefits from plain language?
    • When should I write plain language?
    • How do I write plain language?

This project is jointly funded by the Department of Social Services and the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board.
