PlanetA Schools: Information Session
Event description
Join this free information session to find out more about the PlanetA Schools program and how you can implement it in your school.
PlanetA Schools provides a unique opportunity for young people to address one of the world’s most pressing issues - the climate crisis! The program sees students create their own sustainability consultancy social enterprise with their school as their first client. Your school poses the problems and through the course of the program, students recommend solutions, deep dive into topics including built environment, data analytics, consulting and project managements and pilot an initiative and track it's impact!
This four-stage program will empower young people to be immersed in environmental impact-related problems, identify ways to measure and track their impact, launch campaigns, and influence their community to reduce their impact. Students will launch their own social enterprise: a sustainability consultancy with the school as their first customer, who will provide a real brief on how to improve one or more aspects of sustainability at their school campus. PlanetA Schools is a model where schools can take it as far as they want, with four stages that can take you from one term to one year. This program can be integrated into several learning areas such as science, food technology, STEM, and HASS or run as a project based approach, with students drawing on what they are learning in other subjects such as HASS, Geography, Science, Maths, and Business.
