Description

Do you find yourself ambushing storytellers into last minute requests and quick approvals? Are you confident that your storytellers are well-supported and feel in control of their story? Have you ever had a tricky conversation with a colleague about 'tweaking' someone's words?

In this session we will talk about how you can plan your story gathering activities so that people feel supported and in control.

We will cover:

What is ethical storytelling?

What do we mean when we say ethical storytelling and what are the common mistakes that lead to unethical practice?

Planning

We talk you through the practical steps you need to take to ensure your storytellers are fully informed at every step of the way and are kept safe and supported.

Consent and sign off processes

Are your consent and sign off processes supporting your ethical storytelling practice?

Co-creation

Co-creation and co-production are buzzwords in ethical storytelling but how can you do it well?
