Event description

Join us for a practical and informative session as we walk through the new Dam Inspection Guide and checklist developed in partnership with the Department of Environment and Water.  We will also be launching our brand-new Five Steps to Enhancing Your Dam guide and sharing some practical tips.

You’ll take part in a live, on-site dam inspection, using our easy-to-follow checklist, and gain valuable insights into what makes a dam healthy, efficient, and wildlife-friendly.

Throughout the workshop, we’ll explore:

  • How to properly inspect your dam

  • Common issues and how to fix them

  • Simple ways to improve water quality

  • Planning and implementing stock exclusion fencing and revegetation projects

Hear real-world stories from local landholders who’ve enhanced their dams, improved water outcomes for their stock, and created thriving habitats for native wildlife. You’ll see these improvements in action and learn from their experiences.

Please note: This event includes walking around a farm dam on uneven ground. Be sure to consider your mobility and accessibility needs when booking.

This project is being delivered by Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu, in partnership with the Northern & Yorke Landscape Board, with funding from the South Australian government’s Landscape Priorities Fund and the Department for Environment and Water.
