Event description

Join us for a wonderful morning in the park, planting trees and creating beautiful clay creatures to live in the trees in celebration of National Tree Day!

We often forget how important trees are to all of us.  They keep us cool, provide shade and shelter, help us breathe, provide a home for wildlife and have natural healing properties (to name a few of their many benefits!)

Plant & Create in the Park is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate National Tree Day by:

  • Planting a large tree in the parkland at Spoonbill Shearwater Reserve in Stirling.  Families / groups can name their tree (tags provided).

  • Join Educated by Nature to create some cute clay creatures which can either be taken home as a souvenir or placed in the tree

  • Enjoying a picnic and play in the stunning surrounds of the parkland  with a sausage lunch provided by the Lions Club

Planting opportunities are limited to 40 trees – so we encourage families or small community groups (4 people maximum) to band-together to plant a tree.

Please note the following:

  • As there are only 40 trees to plant, we encourage 40 families or groups to register (4 people per group to plant one tree).

  • When registering, please have your group name and 4 x participant names ready as this is part of the check out process

  • The individual registering on behalf of the group agrees to relay all information to group participants

  • If you are an individual or couple (less than four!) and would like to participate, please email sonia.johansen@stirling.wa.gov.au with the heading Plant & Create in the Park and we will match you with other individuals and create a group (limited spaces available).

  • Closed-in shoes (sneakers/ boots) must be worn while planting. Long pants are also recommended. Note: this is an all-weather event, so please dress for the weather.

  • Children may participate in both planting and clay making (we love to have kids included), however please remember parental supervision is required at all times.
