Event description

Take part! @ WORLD RAINFOREST DAY celebration

 #WorldRainforestDay

Rainforests are vital for the survival of life on Earth. They absorb our carbon dioxide, stabilize climate patterns, and are home to half the world’s plant and animal species. World Rainforest Day celebrates this precious natural resource and encourages action to preserve it. Your efforts, together with the actions of others, will have a positive impact on rainforests and the climate worldwide.

You can help us on our mission to help save the Earth by planting more and more trees. As trees grow, they can help in our efforts to reduce climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere. Trees provide so many benefits that we take for granted every single day.

PLANT WITH US - Greening Our City project is part of our World Rainforest Day celebrations. This year’s World Rainforest Day we ask you to join us on Sunday, 26 June to start the celebration with an action.

We’d love you to join us and help green our City! This year, we’re creating endless opportunities for you to get involved in planting trees and groundcovers across our City. Come along, get your hands dirty and learn about the plants and how they help create habitats for living creatures.
