Planting Day at GT Bray
Event description
Join Manatee County’s Natural Resources Department and the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program in protecting and beautifying local water features at GT Bray Park! Together, we’ll plant native vegetation along the shoreline of a pond to prevent erosion, improve water quality, and create valuable habitat for birds, butterflies, and pollinators.
What to Expect
Outdoor work in full sun (with a chance of getting wet while planting in the pond)
Activities include digging holes, moving and installing plants
Working on sloped pond banks with sandy soils and some shaded areas
Be ready to get your hands dirty, work hard, and make a difference!
Required PPE & Dress Code
Close-toed shoes
Comfortable clothing that can get wet/dirty
