Platypus & Litter Waterways Walk
Event description
Join Melbourne Water and Werribee River Association for a Waterways Walk along the Werribee River - home to the platypus! Learn how to protect this iconic species and keep litter out of our waterways 🚮💧
What's on:
Join us for a guided tour along the Werribee River and hear from platypus ecologist Josh Griffiths (EnviroDNA) and local waste education experts during this 'walking panel'. Learn about the Werribee River platypus population and how litter impacts the platypus as we collect litter from the banks of the river.
Â
At the end of the waterways walk, join us for an insightful discussion to examine the litter we have collected and think about where it may have come from. Learn correct waste disposal techniques (including Seize it, Snip it, Bin it!) and tips to reduce litter in your local community.
