Playspace Whakatū - Official Opening Event

You're invited to join us for the official opening of Playspace Whakatū, a special occasion to celebrate the arrival of an exciting new destination for tamariki, whānau and the wider Whakatū community.

The opening marks a significant milestone for the partnership between Ngā Iwi o Te Tauihu and Nelson City Council, and an opportunity to acknowledge the many people who have helped bring this ambitious project to life.

Guests are asked to gather by the Trafalgar Park entrance from 10.45am, ready for the opening to begin at 11am. From there, we'll make our way across the footbridge and into the playspace together, where we will mark the official opening.

Please note: This is an invitation-only event. Playspace Whakatū will officially open to the wider public on Saturday 28 November 2026.
