Sat, 31 May, 6pm - 11:30pm AWST

Event description

Pleasure Drive is a joyride through Walyalup and Boorloo’s blossoming queer ballroom and underground rave scene. Absent of judgement and pragmatism, it is a very serious celebration of coming to the realisation that getting serious isn’t really your thing.

Pleasure Drive is the debut solo exhibition and zine release by analogue photographer Karla Gibbon.

The night will be soundtracked by wall to wall queer lovers and artists in their own right:
LIVVY RATBAG
SACHA ALEXIOU
SIELKOS
with the odd guest press by PERSONAL FAVOURITE

One night only. Limited run of prints and zines available; the zine is free for all mob, transfolk and sworking angels.
6pm - 11:30pm | saturday 31 may | 43 Wood St Walyalup / Fremantle | all welcome

If you are away or interstate on the night, reach out directly for a copy of the zine to be held.

Pleasure Drive takes place in Walyalup on stolen Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar. Sovereignty was never ceded and colonisation continues to enact detrimental impacts on First Nations People and cultures to this day, both here and around the world. We stand in solidarity with all First Nations mob and pay our respects to the Elders past, present, and emerging, and offer our sincere gratitude to all for taking care of the land, sea and skies this body of work has been created on.

This launch features imagery of both WA's established and rising queer, trans and non-binary talent; the undisputed heartbeat and lifeblood of our cultural scene. Engage with curiousity and reverence: protect the dolls at all costs.
