About This Series
Pleasure, intimacy and relationships are a vital part of wellbeing and everybody deserves access to affirming, inclusive information and spaces to explore these topics safely.
This two-part workshop series is designed specifically for women and gender diverse people with a disability. The sessions will provide practical, empowering and inclusive information about pleasure, consent, communication and sexual wellbeing in a relaxed and respectful environment.
The workshops are facilitated by experienced educators and are grounded in a rights-based and inclusive framework. There is no expectation to share personal experiences: participants are welcome to engage at their own comfort level.
Please note: these sessions will be offered in-person only, they will not be recorded or available online.
Session 1 — Monday 20 April
Exploring Pleasure, Consent & Communication
This session focuses on building confidence and understanding around pleasure and communication.
We will explore:
What pleasure means and why it matters for wellbeing
Understanding affirmative consent as ongoing and mutual
Communicating boundaries, desires and comfort levels
Challenging stigma and myths about disability and sexuality
Practical language and tools for real-life situations
Free cervical screening self-collection available
Session 2 — Monday 27 April
Accessible & Inclusive Intimacy
The second session builds on key concepts and focuses on accessibility and inclusion in intimate relationships.
We will explore:
Summary of pleasure, consent and practical tools for people with disabilities
Adapting intimacy to different bodies, abilities and comfort levels
Sex toys, pleasure and accessibility
Inclusive information about sexual health and screening
Where to find affirming and accessible sexual health services
Free cervical screening self-collection available
Presentation by Passionfruit Sensuality Shop about accessible sexual aids and toys. Passionfruit is an all-embracing sensuality store that puts pleasure first.
