Event description

Pluto Return presents Rewilding

Rewilding is an evening-length dance performance that asks: how do we return wildness to our bodies after decades of contorting and conforming to the human-built landscapes around us? Built through Pluto Return’s distinctive form of community-sourced choreography, the show is inspired by the ecological practice of rewilding – restoring natural processes and creating resilient ecosystems by returning lands to the state they existed in before human intervention.

Pluto Return is a collective of former-former dancers, joyfully dancing into middle age. We celebrate all bodies as they are, not as they used to be, “should” be, or could be. The Pluto Return collective will be joined by guest artists Holly Stone, and Jen Kuhnberg and Teresa Dominick of OnStage Dance Company. Pluto Return engages with the uncomfortable and joyful process of transformation using collective creative processes to engage our communities in questioning, healing, and striving towards liberation.

Doors open at 6:30PM

Rewilding will be ASL interpreted.

Lyrics to songs will be printed in the QR-accessible online program. No strobe lights or fog effects will be used during the performance. Audience seating is on folding chairs on the ground floor, with ADA accessible ramp and entrance.

Audience members of all ages are welcome! The program is not specifically aimed at children and some song lyrics include profanity, however the themes are not inappropriate for children and there are no specific content warnings.

Photo ID: 8 dancers wearing green and purple mismatched floral prints climb on each other in improbable ways, creating a forest of limbs pointing off in different directions. They are in front of a white wall and arched window, with one dancer perched inside the sill. Text reads: Rewilding by Pluto Return, June 15th 2025, Somerville MA, Arts at the Armory.
