Event description

Poetry Mosaic: Voices for Refugee Week

Join us for Poetry Mosaic, a moving celebration of Refugee Week at the City of Swan, where poetry becomes a bridge between worlds. This powerful event honours the resilience, hope, and stories of those who have journeyed far, carrying with them dreams, memories, and spirit. Featuring heartfelt performances from ten poets of diverse backgrounds, Poetry Mosaic invites you to witness the beauty of shared humanity through the unifying power of poetry.

This event brings together bold, authentic voices from across cultures and continents, each sharing their lived experience, resilience and hope. From tales of exile to dreams of freedom, each poem is a testament to the strength of the human spirit. Featured in the lineup is Sirajul Islam, currently based in a refugee camp in Bangladesh, whose voice reaches us across borders with raw truth and lyrical grace—his words a beacon of courage.

Come listen, reflect and stand in solidarity through poetry that transcends barriers and celebrates belonging. And join us for an evening of connection, compassion and unforgettable truth-telling that honours those who have journeyed far to find home.
