Peter J Casey has worked professionally in musical theatre and cabaret for more than thirty years, as a musician, writer, and performer. He was the winner of the Sydney Cabaret Convention in 1999, after which he co-wrote and performed several one-man cabaret shows including Closes on Saturday Night, Renaissance Bloke and I Am Sick to Death of Hearing About the Weimar Republic, the last of which earned a Green Room Award nomination for Best Original Songs.

For musical theatre, Peter has co-written lyrics and music for Angry Penguins, The Lizard of Oz, and The Devil Builds a Chapel, which was shortlisted for London's Flourish new opera writing competition. He was a founding member of New Musicals Australia for the Hayes Theatre Company, and of the Advisory Panel for The Grassroots Initiative at the Victorian College of the Arts.
