Poetry Slam – Up Late Edition With Special Guests Layla and Yusef (Pupperotica)

Event description

Goldfields Pride is thrilled to be hosting a poetry slam for KB Pride Festival. This year we are asking the question “Who am I?”. We want to hear from everyone 18+ on what their queer experience has been, and who they are. We all have stories and want you to share yours!

It will be a quiet evening of cosy vibes, warm drinks, creative writing and community.

Whether you read a poem, short story, monologue, passage from a book or even a song, we want to hear the pieces of art that tell the story of who you are. It can be something you have created yourself, or an existing piece that resonates with you.

Whether it be 5 minuets or just 30 seconds, we want to hear it. The stage will be yours.

If you want to be involved, but aren’t keen on getting on stage yourself, that’s okay! We will have special guests Yusef and Layla from Pupperotica on hand to read your pieces on your behalf. So if you’re anxious or shy, don’t worry this is still for you! These sultry puppets will also be performing pieces from their award-winning Fringe shows throughout the night.

How to be involved:

If you want to come along register your attendance online, tickets are $10. Tickets will be available on the door provided we don't sell out. If you plan on getting up and sharing some art please send us an e-mail at goldfieldspride@gmail.com with your name (doesn’t have to be your birth name, just however you’re most comfortable being referred too), pronouns, what you’ll be sharing and whether it’s an original piece. There will be a sign-up sheet on the day too.
