Poles Apart - engage the space between
Event description
Polarisation in our society is increasing. Social media seems to be exacerbating the divides between us. The spread of disinformation is profound and having a polarising impact. How do we know the information we're accessing is the truth. How do we listen and engaged in dialogue with others whose worldview we just cant see or hear? Maybe you experience this in your family system, with work colleagues, in your community or with friends. We're all feeling the effect it can have on our relationships and our communities.
WE talk differently is the theme of much of our work and WE do this by engaging the whole self; paying attention to our nervous systems, bringing in movement, time in nature, serious play, small group work and our lived experience.Â
Over 6 weeks we will co-create a container with others who are also keen to gain new skills for these difficult conversations. We’ll pick 3 contentious topics and together we’ll practice what it takes to take in a wider view, a view that encompasses the social ecosystem we exist in. Can we be more curious about views that differ from our own, inquire into how flexible is our thinking? Can we change or at least shift out position? What does it take to really listen and respect others’ opinions?
