Poles Apart - into the forest of different views

Event description

Polarisation in our society is increasing. Social media seems to be exacerbating the divides between us. The spread of disinformation is profound and having a polarising impact. How do we know the information we're accessing is the truth? How do we listen and stay engaged in dialogue with others whose worldview we just can't see or hear? Maybe you experience this in your family system, with work colleagues, in your community or with friends. We're all feeling the effect somewhere on our relationships and our sense of community

Over 8 weeks (Oct- Dec) we'll run 6 sessions where we'll will co-create a container with others who are keen to gain new skills for these difficult conversations and situations.Together we’ll practice what it takes to appreciate a wider view, a view that encompasses the social ecosystem we exist in. Can we be more curious about views that differ from our own? Can we really listen, loosen up, and have our thinking become more flexible? What effect might this have on you, on us? Can we learn to hold steady, to calm our nervous system and stay engaged?

We would love you to join us to explore this terrain, a terrain we see as vital for our future social ecology.

WE talk differently is the theme of much of our work and WE do this by engaging the whole self; paying attention to our nervous systems, bringing in movement, pausing to listen deeply, taking time in nature, serious play, small group work, and our lived experience.
