Wed, 22 Oct, 5pm - Sun, 26 Oct, 10pm AEDT

Event description

Sharpen your conceptual art axeheads, snag a showbag, and barrack on local art stars as they gamely attempt their own Woodchop. The Queer Woodchop places Agricultural shows, performance art, pink capitalism, and the ‘original extreme sport’ on the chopping block.

In Pony Express’ subverted/perverted arena, artists hack away at lumbered binaries in a sly yet sincere inquiry into an Aussie sporting spectacle. Queering C’mon Aussie C’mon values, this immersive contest finds a third space between the Lumberjaxs and Lumberjills. Free, open to the public.

Performance times

  • Wed 22 Oct, 7-8pm

  • Sat 25 Oct, 1-2.30pm (Auslan interpreted)

  • Sun 6-7.30pm
