Event description
Indie pop darling Poolroom. returns after 2yrs with fresh single 'COLD METAL', accompanied by a headline concert. The evening will take place in the majestic church hall at Petersham's Greenhouse Studios as part of their final month of shows before closing their doors for good.
Supported by experimental sound sculptor AnSo, along with neo-soul songstress Alia Sharp, the night offers a rare opportunity to catch some of sydney's most exciting acts.
Debuting unreleased, unheard material in a solo setting, this launch is an opportunity to hear it first in a beautiful soon-to-be-gone setting.
'COLD METAL' marks the 1st of many offerings both old and new from Poolroom. Fans, friends and fresh-faces can expect a consistent drip of tracks released from June 2025 onward, a long overdue payoff for those who have been waiting.
AnSo
As a self described sculptor of sound existing and creating on Gadigal land, South Korean artist, AnSo’s works are ever- evolving, like a blob of clay on a throwing wheel, the hands of the sculptor feeling, moulding, collapsing, rising. Their music lies in the experimental electronic realm, building worlds with field recording manipulations and vocal experimentation.
Alia Sharp
Alia Sharp is an independent producer, writer and performer with deep roots, musically and personally, in Dharug and Gundungurra land, also known as the Blue Mountains in NSW, Australia. She is a builder of beats, a neo-soul songstress and distills truths she learns from the earth and its people into ear-worm melodies. Her sophomore album “Apocalypse Baby” (Released February, 2022) is available now, and doesn’t try to catch the zeitgeist so much as it tries to build a home in a fractured world.

This event will take place on stolen, Aboriginal land. We pay our respects to the traditional custodians of this place, the Gadigal of the Eora nation. We hold reverence for these original songwriters and their enduring spiritual, cultural connection to their land & waterways nearby. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was, and always will be Aboriginal land.
