Pop-Up Youth Street Band! Big Beach Busk 2025

Join Brass Blast and friends for a fun workshop, followed by optional performance at the Edinburgh Big Beach Busk (Portobello)

It's back! Oi Musica's youth pop-up band. A great opportunity to learn new tunes, push your playing skills and get some performance experience!

Current and previous Brass Blast players are welcome, as well as anyone who fancies some street band fun for the day! All abilities are welcome and carefully catered for - whether you're an experienced player, or new to your instrument.

Open to players of brass & reeds age 10+ 

And drummers (no experience necessary) age 10+

Drums are provided. Brass/wind players please being your own instrument (you need to have basic playing skills - just a few notes is fine)

Workshop: 12.15 - 2.15pm at Edinburgh College Milton Road East, EH15 2PQ

We can provide notation in advance for those who would find this useful, but we’ll focus on learning by ear on the day. No requirement to read music. The session will be relaxed and friendly, working in a non-formal style. We’ll look at 1 or 2 tunes in sections, before forming one big band.

Workshop and gig led by an experienced team of Brass Blast tutors. 
The performance at the Big Beach Busk will be low-pressure and fun. Tell your pals & family to come along! And stick around for more street bands through the afternoon!
