Port Augusta Science Fair 26 October 2025 9.30am - 12.30pm
Event description
The Science Collective returns to the Central Oval Community Sporting Hub in Port Augusta on Sunday 26th October for a FREE Science Fair with some brand new attractions and plenty of your favourite activities of previous fairs. There will be two three-hour sessions on the day (9.30am-12.30pm and 1.00pm-4.00pm) and each session will have amazing science shows, engaging displays and plenty of hands-on activities to keep young family members busy for the entire session.
The event this year has been made possible thanks to a major sponsorship from The Benevolent Society, and supporting sponsorships from Education Services Australia and their Girls in STEM Toolkit program, the Port Augusta City Council and the Department for Education in SA.
We welcome back Animals Anonymous to a Port Augusta Science Fair with their fascinating range of wildlife shows and display; SciWorld will be offering sessions in their huge inflatable planetarium as well as a come 'n try robotics workshop; Prof Flint, the singing palaeontologist from The Dinosaur University will get the young folk up and dancing; and crowd favourite SciFiBri will present his Fire, Fog & Froth Show in Port Augusta for the first time. All this will be complemented by a day of hands-on science fun with an electric circuit activity, the making of air cannons and rotocopters and several other science craft activities for primary school aged children.
Hungry or thirsty? No problems. The on site cafe will have a range of food and drinks on offer.
AND IT IS FREE - but you still need to book and we are expecting a very large response and may have to cap attendance at each session so.......
