Port Environment Centre AGM 2026

You are warmly invited to join us for the Port Environment Centre 2026 AGM.

We will gather at Milledge's Distillation to celebrate another successful year for the Port Environment Centre and the strong community behind us.

• Arrive from 6pm to enjoy a light supper while chatting with community (PEC members, supporters and anyone else)

• 6.30pm Formal AGM business

• 7pm Hear from our special guest speaker, Dr Jake Robinson

• 7.30pm - 8pm Stay on for dessert, tea, coffee and conversations.

Everyone is very welcome to attend this evening, both PEC Members and non-members.

Please note that non-members will not be able to vote or participate formally in the AGM, but are very welcome to be part of this annual update and community gathering.  If you wish to become a member before the AGM, please ensure you sign up and pay your membership fees by Thursday 22 October. Special guest speaker: Dr Jake Robinson

Dr Jake Robinson is a microbial and restoration ecologist and Senior Research Fellow at Flinders University, where he works in the Frontiers of Restoration Ecology lab. His interdisciplinary research explores the connections between biodiversity, ecosystem restoration and human health, with a particular focus on the often-unseen microbial communities that underpin healthy ecosystems. Jake has pioneered research into areas including soil ecoacoustics and aerobiology, using innovative approaches to better understand and restore ecological systems.

Jake is passionate about making complex ecological science accessible and relevant to the wider community. He is the author of Invisible Friends, TREEWILDING and The Nature of Pandemics, and regularly speaks to schools, community groups and public audiences about biodiversity, restoration and the relationship between nature and human wellbeing. In 2026, Jake was awarded the Green Adelaide Pelzer Prize for his contribution to environmental stewardship and public engagement with ecological science, and was appointed to the Green Adelaide Board.
