Port Gawler Planting and Beach Combing Day
Event description
Join National Parks and Wildlife Service Rangers in their ongoing restoration efforts within the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary - Winaityinaityi Pangkara.
The day will focus on planting native samphire (particularly Teticornia) around the carpark, boosting plant cover, shelter for animals, and regeneration in the area.
A beach combing walk will also be included. Come along to discover what the tide has brought in, discover the shorebirds that live and frequent Pt Gawler, and assist with the collection of unwanted and exposed materials.
All materials will be provided but please bring your own gardening gloves.
Accessibility
A moderate level of fitness is required as part of the event will be on a beach surface.
There are no toilets at the event site or along the trail route. Rangers will provide information on the nearest bathrooms on the day.

Enclosed shoes/boots

This event will be cancelled in the event of severe weather or a total fire ban being declared in the Mid North Fire Ban District.
