Bay Festival 2025 Port MacDonnell
Event description
The much-loved Bay Festival is back, bringing a community-wide celebration to the shores of the Limestone Coast from 21-23 February 2025. Anchored by a lively community fair on Saturday, the weekend will be filled with family-friendly events, ticketed experiences, and activities that highlight the region’s unique cultural, natural, and historical heritage.
The Saturday street celebration transforms the heart of town along the scenic beachfront into a vibrant scene of street performers, live music, bustling markets, and fun for all ages. Known as the Southern Rock Lobster capital of Australia, The Bay will showcase the finest fresh seafood, barbecues, and local delicacies, paired with hand-crafted volcanic wines, beers, and cocktails for an authentic taste of the area. Kids can enjoy rides, face-painting, and a dedicated activity area, while families explore the region through guided tours, workshops, and interactive displays.
For adventure-seekers, scenic helicopter flights and horse-drawn carriage rides along the coast offer memorable views. Festival ambassador Boandik elder Uncle Ken can lead you on an enlightening journey through the region's rich history or take you on a shoreline tour to explore one of the world's most diverse collections of algae.
As Saturday’s events draw to a close, unwind with a view of the sunset and savour seasonal Indigenous dishes by chef Kirby Shearing, or dine at one of Port MacDonnell's much-loved local restaurants.
Community fair entry tickets open access to exclusive weekend activities, including tours, lectures, and hands-on workshops. Ticket holders will be notified as new events become available. Join us for a weekend of coastal fun, local flavours, and community spirit!
