Positive Behaviour Support Approach – Active Support

Free Online Workshop for WA Providers

Active support provides a framework for providers to be able to adapt and meet the needs of the people they support. This workshop will look at that framework, and how the experience of people's needs being met contributes to a greater and higher quality of support.

This workshop, led by an experienced OT and PBS practitioner, aims to give providers a greater understanding of the benefits of active support and the role it can play in increasing quality of life outcomes and reducing behaviours of concern for the people we work alongside.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain an understanding of active support
  • Learn about the benefits of active support and the role it can play in increasing quality of life outcomes and reducing behaviours of concern
  • Explore benefits of active support within service delivery in the community and supported independent living settings

What will I leave with?

The workshop will provider strategies to reflect on, which plant the seed for your organisation to incorporate strategies that can meet people with disabilities needs proactively. Participants will also leave with a copy of the presentation.
