The Masterclass will cover key concepts to build business resilience and understand how to apply sustainability across all areas of business, innovating current or new visitor experience, and how to evolve business operations to create a greater positive impact within the local community and ecosystem.

A highly practical, hands-on masterclass, where the facilitator will:

• Explore why being a business for good is ‘good for business’ and show how businesses can transition into a best-practice responsible tourism organisation that is equipped to build financial resilience, maintain market access and tap into conscious travellers.

• Turn the theory and confusion of sustainability into practical solutions using tried and tested actions that are time and budget friendly, utilising individual and group activities to progress ideas and solutions for businesses and the region.

• Learn how to holistically infuse sustainability into all aspects of business to progress action on Environment & Climate Change, Circular Economy, Social Impact, Respecting Culture.

• Show importance of accreditation opportunities (focus on Ecotourism Australia) to measure/validate progress and how to transparently communicate sustainability commitment.

• Incorporate local, national, and global case studies when showing the concepts in action, which allows the participants to see the concepts being practically activated.

• Provide takeaway activity sheets for the participants to help them apply their new learnings during and immediately after the masterclass.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Nic will lead a ‘Positive impact’ Learning Tour (which will take another 2-3 hours), that will build on the learnings of the workshop, foster deeper conversations, get firsthand exposure to positive impact in action, as well as connect with local suppliers, conservation or social impact organisations in their part of the region.
