Post disaster counselling in a changing world
Event description
Post-Disaster in a Changing World
As the world around us is rapidly changing it requires the counselling field to adapt and become more responsive to shifting mental health needs. A critical component of that transformation involves climate change and rising violence in our communities. This webinar will consider two major crises that communities are facing - climate emergencies that have displaced individuals and disrupted entire communities and community-based violence. The webinar will present a post-disaster counselling intervention model as well as examine healing, advocacy, and self-care within the post-disaster context.
