Postdoc Kayak & SUP Boathouse Party Day

Boathouse Party on Pier 84

When: Saturday, June 28 - Guided Kayaking Tour in the morning,  boathouse party and free rentals from 12 - 5 PM

Where: Pier 84, 555 12th Ave at 44th St

Cost: Free to hang out at the Boathouse; free to rent a kayak/SUP; $20 for the Sea Kayaking Lesson; $40 for the guided Sushi Kayak Trip

Guests: Guests are permitted. Kids are allowed for rentals/boathouse, but not the trips. Dogs are also permitted to hang at the boathouse.

We have booked the entire Manhattan Kayak Boathouse on Saturday, June 28 from 12:00 - 5:00 PM, where you can enjoy free kayak and SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboard) rentals in the safe embayment right next to the Intrepid Museum! No experience is needed and expert guides will be around to teach you. 

For those with a bit more experience, sign up for our guided Sushi Kayak Trip from 11AM - 4PM where you'll travel to a Japanese market across the river for sushi.

For those who want to learn more skills, you can take a Sea Kayaking lesson from 1 AM - 3:30 PM before joining everyone at the boathouse.

All afternoon and evening, you can come by to relax, meet the Postdoc Affairs team, enjoy cold drinks and snacks, and see what the West Side looks like. We will be happy to help you get to know other postdocs, discuss upcoming events, workshops, and classes, or just hang out and talk about whatever you’d like! We have been working with Manhattan Kayak for over 10 years, and it’s always been one of our most popular and fun events.
