POTUS or, Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive
Event description
THE SMASH HIT COMEDY COMES TO SAVANNAH FOR 8 PERFORMANCES ONLY!
Audience and critics alike raved about “POTUS (or, Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive)” by Selina Fillinger when it debuted on Broadway and now the Savannah Cabaret is bringing this outrageously funny play to the local stage for the first time!
“POTUS” is the no-holds-barred story of seven women around a fictional (and never seen or named) President of the United States on a very bad day at the White House. Harriet is the stressed out Chief of Staff trying to juggle crisis after crisis; Jean is the uptight Press Secretary is trying to keep scandals off the front page; Margaret is the very angry First Lady trying to stop herself from killing her husband; Stephanie is the mousy Presidential Secreatary trying to prove she’s up to the job; Chris is the single-mom White House Reporter trying to do it all; Bernadette is the President’s shady sister trying to get a pardon from prison; and Dusty is the President’s less-than-bright mistress trying to tell him about something important that will be happening in about nine months.
These fast, funny, raunchy women are determined to save the President from himself or bring down the White House trying!
NOTE: “POTUS” contains LOTS of profanity, sexual situations, crass humor, and simulated drug use and smoking. It is not for the faint of heart. Guests must be 21 years of age or older and the production is intended for mature audiences. The theater is on the second floor and is only accessible by stairs; no elevator is available.
