Event description
Pou Pasifika, Youth Development Workforce One Day Seminar
Interweaving Past, Present and Future: A dedicated day for Pasifika youth workers and practitioners to connect, be empowered and be equipped with skills and knowledge to support their day-to-day work.
F R E E - E V E N T
Pou Pasifika is the new national network co-designed by and for Pasifika youth workers. We are championing Pasifika youth development workers and practitioners in Aotearoa. Grounded in our cultural knowledge and practices, we know that when our youth workers are valued and supported, the young people they work with thrive. This initiative affirms our identity and the unique way we serve our communities. We are proudly backboned by Ola le Ola Aotearoa Trust and supported by Ara Taiohi, the peak body for youth development in Aotearoa.
Our Core Work
Pou Pasifika is structured around four core focus areas to strengthen and uplift our workforce:
Advocacy: Championing better work conditions and ensuring Pasifika voices shape policy and resource flow.
Advancing Professional Practice: Developing Pasifika-led frameworks and best practice models
Connection: Building a unified network where we are locally engaged and nationally connected.
Wellbeing: Providing holistic support for our Pasifika youth workers and practitioners.
We are excited to be hosting our inaugural One Day Seminar dedicated to Pasifika youth workers and practitioners in the Auckland region. It's an opportunity to connect with other Pasifika youth workers in the sector, access professional development to enhance best practice while using our Te Ao Pasifika way to celebrate and honour one another. This seminar will be underpinned by a Tokelau proverb: Totō hau tōkiga nei, aua na tupulaga e fāi mai: Plant a seed today, for the future generations.
We will have workshops and networking opportunities. We also can't forget the Pasifika event cornerstones - Entertainment and Kai.
Quick! Register today as this seminar has limited capacity
