Wombat Rescue Master Class: check/cut a pouch
Description
Most of us have seen a dead wombat beside the road. It’s such a common sight that it’s easy to forget there may still be a live joey in her pouch. Even if mum is clearly dead, the joey may have survived. Stopping to check could save its life.
In this short, practical workshop, I’ll show you how to tell whether a wombat is male or female, check a female’s pouch, and safely remove a pinkie or joey if you find one.
Some of the photos and videos may be confronting. But if you ever come across a wombat on the road and wonder whether you should stop, this workshop will help you know what to do.
There will also be time to ask questions and share experiences so we can learn from each other.
Please note: this session will be recorded.
