Power BI provides the ability to perform rich transformations with your data as well as combine data from multiple sources. Delve into M (or Power Query) as well as Power BI data modelling, common errors and best practice. This workshop is tailored according to the needs of the delegates and involves a demonstration from the instructor with students practising the techniques shown.

- Joining data from different source systems
- Common errors with joins and data models and how to fix them
- Structuring Power BI queries for optimal and correct joins
- Exploration of M functions such as Column by Example, Pivoting and Unpivoting, Indexes, creating tables, the advanced editor and Custom Functions
- Preparing your model to support time intelligence
- When to use M or DAX
- Model tuning and optimising maintenance tasks
Course Prerequisites
- Have a base level of Power BI skills.
- Have the latest version of Power BI Desktop installed.
