Projects rarely unfold exactly as planned.

Implementation is where organisational commitments, participation processes and project assumptions are tested in practice. It is also where power continues to shape whose knowledge counts, who makes decisions, whose concerns are prioritised, and how programs adapt when circumstances change.

The Power to Praxis Practice Circle is a monthly facilitated space for practitioners to reflect on the role of power, relationships and accountability in development, humanitarian, community development and social change work.

This session focuses on the Implementation stage of the Power to Praxis framework. Using a selection of reflection cards, we will explore how decisions are made, how accountability is practised, and how projects respond to changing contexts and community priorities.

Together we will consider questions such as:

• Who makes decisions during implementation?

• How are communities involved in adapting project activities?

• Whose knowledge is valued when challenges emerge?

• How is accountability understood and practised?

• What happens when community priorities differ from project plans?

• How do we respond to feedback, critique and changing circumstances?

The Practice Circle is not a training course and does not require prior knowledge of decolonial theory. Instead, it offers a structured space for critical reflection, dialogue and shared learning with others working across the sector.

Participants will:

• Engage with selected Power to Praxis reflection cards

• Explore decision-making, accountability and adaptation in practice

• Reflect on challenges and opportunities in their own work

• Share experiences and insights with other practitioners

• Identify one commitment or action to take forward

• Each participant will receive a recording and additional resource links.

The session will be facilitated by Lana Woolf, creator of the Power to Praxis reflection cards and Companion Guide.

Participants who register will receive access to the recording after the event. If you are unable to attend live, you are welcome to register and access the recording in your own time.
