Power Tools 101: Make a Native Timber Stool , Hive 11, Saturday 14 June 10.00 am - 4.00 pm
Event description
Proudly brought to you by Trust Waikato!
Join The ReCreators for a full day woodworking workshop where you will learn how to use a drill, sander and hand tools with confidence. You will design and build your very own functional stool using beautiful, upcycled native timber.
This course is a great opportunity to develop your design thinking, explore creative woodworking and enjoy the satisfaction of making something useful with your own hands.
We will be using timber offcuts and reclaimed wood, giving new life to materials that might otherwise end up in landfill. This day will focus on fun, sustainability and practical skill-building.
Note: Participants need to wear old clothing that can get paint on it and closed-toe shoes. Some work may be outdoors, please wear clothes according to the weather.
* Please note children are not able to attend with parents due to health and safety requirements.
* Please bring snacks, lunch, and a drink bottle.
You need to arrive at this workshop for the beginning of class and the health and safety briefing to be able to take part in the rest of the class.
The workshop will provide the following:
- Health and Safety Briefing
- Step by step use of all tools
- Where to extend yourself for a Power Tools 101 class
- Personal attention where required
When: Saturday 14 June, 10.00 am- 4.00 pm
