Powerful Pollinators: Why bees matter & UHLMG AGM
Event description
Join us for a meal and learn about Bees from Fiona Chambers, CEO of Wheen Bee Foundation and passionate conservationist.
Bees play a vital role in preserving biodiversity, maintaining ecosystem health and protecting our food security. Most of the crops we eat are pollinated by bees, with nearly two-thirds of Australia’s agricultural production benefiting from bee pollination. Bees can play a key role in pollinating healthy farm systems and healthy farm systems can play a key role in reversing the decline in numbers and diversity of bees driven by threats such as habitat loss, intensive farming practices and pests and diseases.
Come along on Tuesday night to learn more about bees, what they do for us and the ecosystem, and what we can do for them.
